Ohio erased an early 14-3 deficit to roll past Gardner-Webb 52-35 in an offensive shootout at Peden Stadium. The Bobcats took control with a 28-7 scoring burst in the second quarter, highlighted by Sieh Bangura's first two of three rushing touchdowns on the day. Quasean Holmes shined for the Runnin' Bulldogs with two rushing scores and a 68-yard touchdown reception, but Duncan Brune's three goal-line plunges helped Ohio pull away for good.
