Ohio State opened their season with a hard-fought 14-7 victory over Texas in front of the home crowd at Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes struck first with CJ Donaldson's 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, then extended their lead when Julian Sayin connected with Carnell Tate on a 40-yard scoring strike early in the fourth. The Longhorns finally answered late with Arch Manning finding Parker Livingstone for a 32-yard touchdown, but the comeback effort fell short.
