Kentucky held off Toledo 24-16 in a season opener that burst to life in the fourth quarter. After building a 10-2 halftime lead, the Wildcats added punch with Seth McGowan's 6-yard touchdown run before Dante Dowdell delivered the knockout blow with an electrifying 79-yard sprint to the end zone. The Rockets made things interesting late with quarterback Tucker Gleason accounting for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but the Wildcats' ground attack proved too powerful at Kroger Field.
