Recap
What a battle for the crown. Michigan captured the National Championship with a gutsy 69-63 victory over UConn in a back-and-forth battle at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Wolverines led 33-29 at halftime and built their largest advantage at 11 points, but the Huskies refused to quit. UConn mounted a furious comeback in the second half, ripping off an 8-2 run to cut Michigan's lead to just five at 50-45, keeping the title game within reach. Down the stretch, it came down to composure and free throws. With the game on the line, Trey McKenney stepped up for Michigan in the final moments, calmly sinking two crucial free throws with 13 seconds remaining to seal the 69-63 championship clincher. UConn had their chances but couldn't close the gap in the final minutes. Michigan Wolverines are National Champions.
