Drake Bayles brings veteran sinkerball grit to the Skyhawks mound
In the 2026 season, UT Martin right-hander Drake Bayles logged 19 innings across 12 appearances and two starts, striking out 11 while turning in four scoreless outings, including a clean inning with two strikeouts against No. 15 Ole Miss[1]. He looks like a sturdy, low-drama innings-eater: a 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior with experience from East Mississippi CC, and the kind of arm coaches usually trust when they want strike-throwing, composure, and a little bulldog energy in leverage spots[1].
