Caylene Nguyen gives Columbia two-way value with pop, pitching versatility, and competitive edge
Nguyen, a sophomore P/UT for Columbia in the 2026 season, brings real roster flexibility and has already flashed impact offense, including a three-run homer against Manhattan in March 2026. She’s listed as a right-handed pitcher/utility player and is described in recruiting coverage as a gifted competitor with multiple pitches, which suggests she can help both on the mound and in lineup depth. For a team, that means a player who can fill gaps, compete with intensity, and provide upside beyond basic box-score production.
