veteran Winthrop guard with tough, multi-sport grit
Naima Jackson is a 5'6" guard who brings experience, pressure defense, and a team-first edge to Winthrop; in her high school season, she averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.7 steals for a 26-4 state championship team, which hints at the two-way activity that can translate well. Her profile stands out for competitive toughness—she also starred in cross country—and for being part of a deep basketball family connection at Winthrop, which usually says a lot about feel and buy-in. If you want a guard who competes, defends, and adds savvy rather than flashy volume, she’s the kind of fit coaches like to keep around.
