Vanderbilt’s Nikhil Jefferson: Big-bodied freshman DT with upside, but still mostly a developmental piece
Nikhil Jefferson entered Vanderbilt in 2025 as a freshman defensive tackle at about 6-foot-1, 330 pounds, bringing true nose-tackle size and early roster-value as a depth interior lineman. His recruiting profile pointed to a sturdy, space-eating frame and power potential more than immediate stat-sheet fireworks, which fits a young DL still learning SEC speed. The key question is fit: if your team wants a low-center, interior blocker with development upside and patience, he’s interesting; if you need instant production, he’s not there yet.
