Jamaal Cherry gives Texas Southern a massive interior presence on the defensive line
Cherry is a 6-foot-2, 295-pound junior defensive lineman for Texas Southern who brings size and veteran experience to the Tigers’ front, with 10 tackles in the 2025 season and active status on the 2026 roster. His value is less about gaudy box-score numbers and more about being a physical, space-eating interior defender who can help anchor the run defense and free up teammates to make plays. If your team wants a sturdy DL with college-game reps and a strong frame for the trenches, he is a functional fit.
