steady senior guard bringing the right kind of glue to Occidental
In the 2025-26 season, Occidental senior guard Mateo Tangaan is a low-usage connector who has played in 12 games, averaging 0.9 points, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in 3.7 minutes while shooting 21.4% from the field[1][2]. His value is less about box-score fireworks and more about fit: multiple reports describe him as part of an unselfish, team-first rotation, and he was a contributor on an Occidental group that finished 19-8 overall and 11-5 in conference play[2][3][4]. If your team wants a mature guard who understands role acceptance, culture, and senior-season composure, he looks like a solid locker-room and depth piece[3][4].
