veteran Howard DB known for speed and multi-role value
David Thiel first arrived at Howard as a 2013 signee from Warren Easton in New Orleans, where he was described as one of Louisiana’s best defensive backs/kick returners and clocked at 4.3 in the 40, giving him clear burst and special-teams upside. Howard’s roster records list him as a 6-foot-1, 180-pound DB across the 2013-16 seasons, but publicly available stat pages show little production, so the appeal is more about athletic profile, versatility, and development than box-score splash. He looks like a fit for teams that value length, speed, and coverage potential over immediate headline stats.
