Elijah Owens is a dual-threat QB whose 2024 breakout earned national freshman honors
In the 2024 season, Elijah Owens emerged as Indiana State’s most dynamic offensive weapon, throwing for 1,717 yards and 12 touchdowns while adding 645 rushing yards and 8 scores, enough to earn STATS Perform FCS Freshman All-American recognition and MVFC All-Newcomer honors. He stands out for creating offense both in structure and when plays break down, plus he showed game-winning poise in a late comeback win over Murray State. The main question for a team is consistency—his production came with 5 interceptions and some volatility—but the upside is real for a system that values mobility and improvisation.
