Reliable NMSU Tight End With Proven JUCO Production
Perris Scoggins gives New Mexico State a seasoned, physically ready tight end who has shown real receiving ability — he posted 16 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown as a freshman at Mt. San Jacinto and 21 catches for 355 yards and three scores in 2011 before arriving at NMSU. He’s a classic move-the-chains TE: 6-foot-3, about 242-250 pounds, with enough size to block and enough hands to matter underneath. The big question for a team is upside versus ceiling — dependable, experienced, and tough, but not a flashy mismatch weapon.
