Joey Kafka is a breakout bullpen arm with real freshman poise for Valpo
In the 2026 season, Valparaiso freshman RHP Joey Kafka has logged 16.1 innings across 15 appearances, striking out 7 while working in relief for the Beacons. He is a 6'1", 195-pound righty whose calling card appears to be pitchability and composure: Valpo notes multiple scoreless outings, including 2.0 shutout innings at Alabama State and a clean 1 1/3-inning relief stint at Illinois State. His college value is the kind that plays on any staff—steady, versatile, and not easily rattled. If your team needs a dependable middle-relief arm with upside, Kafka fits the mold.
