Pesky Defensive Spark Plug with Sharpshooting Upside for Hampton Pirates
Mario Haskett Jr., a 6'3"-6'4" guard for the Hampton Pirates, averages 5.3 PPG, 2.3 RPG, and 1.7 APG with a 35.3% FG% across his college career (ESPN stats), but his true value shines in elite perimeter defense—boasting a 3.9% steal rate (69th nationally in 2019-20 at Harvard) and Ivy League-leading peskiness that forces turnovers more often than he commits them. Transferred from Harvard to Hampton in 2021, he's a high-IQ, speedy scorer at all three levels with improved 43% 3PT shooting in his breakout Crimson year, making him a perfect glue-guy fit for teams needing intensity, efficiency, and clutch late-shot-clock heroics.
