Freshman Catcher Carter Rutenbar Brings Arm Strength and Left-Handed Bat to Arkansas
Carter Rutenbar is a freshman catcher for Arkansas in the 2025 season whose biggest selling points are his athleticism behind the plate, a strong arm, and a left-handed bat that has already shown real contact value, with D1Baseball listing him among Arkansas’ batting leaders at .286 and Perfect Game noting efficient receiving and big arm strength. He was a ranked 2025 prospect, and Arkansas’ roster lists him at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds; he also cleared a brief injury scare during the season, which matters for durability context. If you want a catcher who adds defensive upside and offensive upside rather than just glove-only depth, he fits the profile.
