Dallas McClarty’s low-center-of-gravity nose tackle profile still fits the trench-war job
McClarty is a compact, leverage-heavy interior defender built for the ugly work: at 5-11 and around 275 pounds, he has the squatty frame coaches like at nose tackle, and his Texas State career numbers show real run-stuffing value with 59 total tackles and 7.0 tackles for loss across 2012-2015, plus a pair of sacks. In the 2014 season, he posted 40 tackles and 6.0 TFL, which is the kind of disruption that pops for a NT. The appeal is simple: if you want a blue-collar anchor who can eat blocks and stay nasty in the middle, he’s your kind of guy.
