Iona’s Damian Rodriguez brings leadoff speed, bat-to-ball skills and steady run production
In the 2025 season, Damian Rodriguez was a reliable top-of-the-order spark for Iona, hitting .295 with a team-leading 44 runs scored and 18 steals, while adding nine doubles and three homers in 51 games/50 starts. His calling card is a balanced offensive profile: he handles the bat well, creates pressure on the bases, and consistently turns contact into run-scoring value. For a team, he fits best as a high-energy center fielder who can set the table, defend a premium spot, and bring proven college production rather than just tools.
