Undersized Rebel DB with Relentless Tackling Pedigree
CJ Barney, a 5-9, 165-lb dynamo now listed as an Ole Miss Rebels linebacker (ESPN), carved his path from Temecula, CA high school roots through Madison Central (MS) where he posted 38 total tackles, 18 solo, 5.4 tackles/game, 2 sacks, and 1 caused fumble in 2021-22 (MaxPreps)—ranking top-39 in MS 6A. JUCO pitstop at East Central CC honed his pass rush and TFL skills (Hudl highlights), showcasing explosive intensity and football IQ that belies his size. A gritty, high-motor differentiator perfect for teams needing feisty DB/LB versatility over raw measurables.
