experienced Kansas State DB with a proven JUCO pedigree
Bret Jones arrived at Kansas State as a highly decorated junior-college defensive back, including first-team All-America honors and a defensive MVP nod, which is a strong signal of ball skills, leadership, and competitiveness. In Kansas State’s 2004 roster notes, he was listed at 6-2, 190 and credited with quickly learning the defense, even starting Big 12 games early after joining the program late. That combo—size, speed of adjustment, and a captain-type background—makes him interesting for teams valuing toughness and football IQ over flash.
