sharpshooting Illinois guard with a Final Four pedigree
Rich McBride was a 6-3 guard for Illinois who stood out most for his perimeter shooting and steady backcourt production; in his Illinois career he averaged 6.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, while also earning All-Big Ten honorable mention and helping the Illini reach the 2005 Final Four. His value is less about flashy volume and more about dependable spacing, toughness, and winning experience, which makes him the kind of guard coaches trust in competitive lineups.
