veteran Columbia back with pedigree, grit, and a little old-school thunder
In the 2026 season, Lucas Faria is a Columbia Lions running back whose profile is built less on flashy modern-stat overload and more on toughness, versatility, and proven football pedigree. Columbia lists him at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, and his background at Sparta High School is eye-catching: he was the 2013 New Jersey Herald Player of the Year, set school records, and piled up 2,174 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns as a junior before 1,273 yards and 22 scores as a senior. That combination suggests a physical, productive runner with a high compete level and reliable football instincts.
