Lithuanian Forward Matas Buteliauskas Is a Long, Young Upside Swing for Buffalo
In the 2025-26 season, Matas Buteliauskas was a lightly used Buffalo freshman who played in eight games and averaged 0.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 4.6 minutes, but his real appeal is the frame, not the box score: at 6-foot-7 and 200 pounds, he brings projectable size, international experience with Lithuania, and a developmental profile that suggests upside if his skill level catches up to his tools. He looks like a patient-growth fit rather than an instant-impact piece.
