BYU’s rugged, rebound-first frontcourt piece
Braiden Shaw’s value at BYU has always been about hustle, size, and doing the dirty work: he was praised as “tough, rugged, a good rebounder, athletic, and smart,” and in 2017 he produced a career-high 11 rebounds in his first career start while filling in for an injured teammate. He isn’t a volume scorer, but he gives a team frontcourt length, physicality, and effort plays that can swing possessions—exactly the kind of glue guy coaches trust when they want boards, energy, and stability.
