Michigan's 2025 Catching Prospect with Elite Defense and High-Intensity Drive
Sydney Hastings is a highly-touted 2025 recruiting class catcher for the Michigan Wolverines, joining the team as one of six new signees alongside fellow catcher Rachel Del Busto[1]. While she has not yet played a collegiate game as of July 2026, her differentiator is her elite defensive pedigree and intense, game-controlling presence at the plate, traits that made her a top target for Michigan's coaching staff[1]. As a freshman prospect, she offers a high-floor fit for teams needing a reliable, defensive-first catcher with the personality to lead a pitching staff, though she is still developing her offensive consistency at the college level.
