Josh Doney flashed real bullpen value in 2026 for UMass Lowell
In the 2026 season, freshman left-hander Josh Doney logged 27.1 innings over 18 appearances for UMass Lowell, struck out 15, picked up a save against UMBC, and finished with nine scoreless outings[1][3][14]. He looks like a strike-throwing, low-drama lefty who can give you multiple innings or handle late-game work, and his high-school track record — 0.65 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 74 innings in 2024 — hints at real bat-missing upside[15]. The fit? Pretty nice for a team that values toughness, flexibility, and a sneaky-good freshman arm with room to keep climbing[1][7].
