Spencer Lytle brings brains, size, and steady depth to Stanford’s linebacker room
Spencer Lytle is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound Stanford linebacker whose value comes less from gaudy stats and more from reliability, intelligence, and fit: he arrived after four seasons at Wisconsin, was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, and brings a graduate-level academic background to go with his defensive experience. In the 2023 season, he appeared in Stanford’s first six games and logged his first solo tackle for the Cardinal, but his calling card is depth, discipline, and a coachable, high-floor profile rather than splash plays.
