SMU’s veteran defensive line name with family roots and edge
Joseph Medlin is a former SMU defensive lineman with program ties that run deep, including being listed as a four-year Mustang letterman in the early 2000s; that kind of lineage usually signals a player who understands the grind and the standard. Publicly available current stat and ranking data for a 2026 SMU DT profile is limited, so the strongest takeaway is his fit: a physical interior presence whose value comes from toughness, familiarity with the program, and blue-collar trench DNA rather than splashy box-score production.
