Preston Bird brings slot-volume reliability and return-game juice to Samford
Bird is a 5'10", 170-pound junior wideout who emerged as a steady contributor for Samford in 2025, leading to a preseason First-Team All-SoCon nod for 2026 after finishing second on the team in every receiving category with 53 catches for 617 yards and four touchdowns. He stands out for dependable chain-moving production, game-by-game workload, and added special-teams value as a kick returner. The fit is strong for teams wanting a quick, versatile receiver who can work the middle, handle volume, and contribute beyond offense.
