Jake Potts gives Liberty a veteran right-hander with a live arm and swing-and-miss flashes
In the 2026 season, Jake Potts has been a durable graduate-student option for Liberty, working as a starter and reliever and giving the Flames innings with a fastball that has drawn attention in game coverage. His 2025 line showed the upside and the rough edges: a 1-1 record, 4.97 ERA, 31 strikeouts and 19 walks in 38 innings, with opponents batting .282 against him. What makes him interesting is the mix of size, experience and strikeout ability, though command can run hot-and-cold; he looks like a fit for teams that value veteran depth and can sharpen his consistency.
