Brian Raines brings veteran linebacker production and toughness to Rice
Brian Raines is a high-volume, veteran Rice linebacker whose value goes beyond tackles: ESPN lists him as a Rice LB, and Rice notes he ranked 15th among active NCAA defenders with 155 career unassisted tackles while leading the team with 81 tackles in the season cited by the roster. He also played through notable injury adversity earlier in his career, which reinforces a reputation for toughness and resilience. For a team, he profiles as a dependable, physical run defender and tone-setter with proven production, though his appeal is strongest if you want experience, reliability, and competitive edge more than flash.
