Anna Carder brings elite defense and middle-of-the-order pop to Mississippi State
A proven catcher with one year of eligibility left, Anna Carder arrives at Mississippi State after a breakout 2025 at Southern Illinois, where she hit .390 with 34 runs, 42 RBIs and 7 homers while earning MVC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Her calling card is the complete package: elite receiving, a .996 fielding percentage, 22 assists and nine runners caught stealing in 2025, plus enough offensive thump to change games from behind the plate. She’s a high-impact fit for a team that values run prevention, toughness and veteran leadership.
