Devin Mitchell brings power, patience, and sneaky speed to NC State’s outfield mix
In the 2026 season, Devin Mitchell stood out as a high-impact junior college transfer who brought real thump and on-base skills to NC State: he entered with a Florence-Darlington resume of a .386 average, .483 OBP, .637 SLG, 16 home runs, 36 doubles, and 42 steals across two seasons. He also showed immediate pop for the Wolfpack, homering in limited 2026 action, but his bigger selling point is the blend of disciplined plate coverage and athleticism that can fit either the outfield or DH. Think: contact, power, and a little chaos on the bases—exactly the kind of bat that can matter in the ACC.
