6-foot-4 righty with live-armed upside, but still ironing out command
In the 2026 season, Diego Emerling showed a big-frame, projectable profile for Saint Mary’s, working primarily in relief with 14 appearances and one start, but his 10.50 ERA and 2.61 WHIP show the raw edges are still very real. At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, he brings a power pitcher look with right-right toughness, and he’s already logged strikeout flashes in shorter outings, but the command can wander. If your team wants upside and arm strength over polish, he’s intriguing; if you need immediate consistency, the fit is less clean.
