Walk-On Tackling Machine, Troy’s Defensive Tone-Setter
Carlton Martial built his reputation as an undersized but relentless linebacker who became the NCAA’s all-time tackles leader at Troy, after arriving as a walk-on and earning freshman All-America honors in 2018. His calling card is instinct, motor, and consistency in the middle of the defense, plus the kind of toughness and production that separate real football players from spreadsheet-only prospects. He was also a Burlsworth Trophy finalist in 2021 and 2022, underscoring both his impact and underdog story. If you value leadership, reliability, and high-effort production, he is exactly the type of fit you want.
