Byron Hankerson brings veteran FAU receiver savvy, but 2026 impact is clouded by availability
Hankerson is a redshirt senior at Florida Atlantic who has shown reliable production in his career, posting 27 catches for 344 yards and 2 touchdowns, with a solid 12.7 yards per catch in his FAU career. The bigger story is context: FAU listed him as having had a strong spring but being held out during the fall, which makes his current availability the key question. If healthy, he looks like a steady, experienced target with field-stretching ability; if not, the Owls have to plan around a veteran who has more proven flashes than recent on-field volume.
