Big-leg Michigan punter with elite upside, but a consistency-and-discipline question mark
Will Hagerup was one of Michigan’s most talented punters when he was on, owning a career 42.2-yard average, a 72-yard long, and a Big Ten Punter of the Year award in 2012. His calling cards were field-flipping hang time and the ability to boom long punts, but his profile also came with real volatility: his 2011 average dipped to 36.0 yards, and his career included multiple suspensions and missed time that affected trust and rhythm. He fit best as a high-ceiling specialist, not a low-maintenance one.
