VMI’s returning backfield name with veteran familiarity
Abey Malave-Lopez is a known quantity for VMI’s offense, listed among returning running backs in the program’s football materials and appearing in the Keydets’ historical record book as a letterman from the 2000-02 and 2004 seasons. What makes him interesting is less a stat-sheet splash than the value of experience, continuity, and trust in a run-game role at a demanding military program. If you want a back who brings toughness, system knowledge, and depth rather than headline-grabbing numbers, he fits that profile well.
