ODU Walk-On Legend from 2006-07 Era
Joshua Russell, a 6-2 guard from Suffolk, VA, made his mark as a walk-on for the Old Dominion Monarchs in the 2006-07 season, appearing in the Georgia State game with minimal stats but embodying the gritty, underdog spirit that defines bench contributors. Known for his high school honors at Lakeland and later stints at Christopher Newport (12 pts vs Greensboro in 2007-08) and Gettysburg (2021-22), his differentiator is long-range shooting flair and academic excellence—perfect for teams seeking versatile, high-character depth players who bring enthusiasm without demanding minutes.
