Howard DL James Newell brings veteran tackle production and reliable run support
James Newell is a durable Howard defensive lineman whose value comes from steady assignment discipline, active hands, and a history of production rather than flashy sack totals; Howard’s roster and athletics profile show him as a long-time contributor, and ESPN lists him as a current Bison DL. In Howard’s 2018 season, he appeared in all 10 games and posted 25 tackles with 21 solo stops plus a fumble recovery, which suggests a physical, dependable presence against the run. If you need a line defender who plays hard, understands leverage, and adds toughness in the trenches, he fits that profile.
