Melanie Thornton is Butler’s do-it-all frontcourt anchor
Melanie Thornton was a high-impact two-way forward for Butler, combining scoring, rebounding, rim protection, and steals in one package; in 2010 she ranked among the Horizon League leaders in blocked shots, scoring, steals, and rebounds, and earned both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors. She stands out for her versatility and defensive intensity, plus the kind of all-around production that translates beyond box scores, making her the type of player who can raise a team’s floor on both ends.[1][2][3]
