Experienced NCCU DB with Playmaking DNA
Derrick Ray is listed by North Carolina Central as a cornerback/DB, and the available public profile shows a 6'0", 210-pound build that suggests a physical, run-support-friendly defensive back rather than a pure coverage-only specialist[2][1]. Historical NCCU game notes also highlight his ball skills and impact plays, including a pick-six against NC A&T, which points to a defender who can change momentum, not just clean up tackles[7][8]. He looks like a fit for a team that values toughness, instincts, and a DB willing to mix it up at the line and finish plays.
