elite table-setter who rewrote the UC Irvine assist book
In the 2019-20 season, Lauren Saiki was the Big West’s top distributor and one of the nation’s best, averaging 6.9 assists per game while setting UC Irvine’s single-season record with 215 assists. Her calling card is point-guard control: pace, vision, and constant pressure on the defense, plus quick hands that helped her add 1.9 steals per game. The larger story is impact — she’s the kind of guard who makes everyone around her better, and that’s exactly why she fit as a high-IQ, winning-minded lead guard.
