Versatile DB Transfer Bringing Tackling Grit to Houston Cougars
Blake Thompson, a 6'1" strong safety rated 77 overall in EA Sports College Football 26, has carved a journeyman's path from Blinn JC (43 tackles in 2021) to Iowa State (11 tackles, 2 PBUs in 2023), Louisiana Tech (55 tackles in 2024), and now Houston, where he logged 302 snaps across defense and special teams in his debut season—earning two 80+ and five 70+ tackling grades. His differentiator is relentless intensity and multi-phase reliability, making him a coach's dream for Big 12 squads needing blue-collar DBs who excel in run support and special teams without injury red flags.
