J’Mond Tapp brings proven pass-rush juice to Memphis
In the 2025 season at Southern Miss, J’Mond Tapp posted 70 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks, then arrived at Memphis as a redshirt senior with real “wreck-the-game” edge presence[3][10][13]. He was named first-team All-Sun Belt in 2025, landed on ESPN’s Top 15 Non-QB Playmakers and The Athletic’s Freaks List, and earned Memphis’ Shrine Bowl Defensive Player of the Week honors after opening 2026 with five tackles and a sack against UNLV[10][11][13]. If a team wants a high-motor, physical DL who can impact both the run and the quarterback, Tapp fits the bill nicely[10][13].
