the steady, veteran depth piece in Gardner-Webb’s linebacker room
William Mines is a veteran Gardner-Webb linebacker whose value comes from reliability, toughness, and versatility more than flashy numbers. In Gardner-Webb’s roster notes, he’s described as a walk-on who split time between linebacker and the secondary, settled into the linebacking corps, and has been asked to contribute on special teams and as backup outside linebacker, with coaches noting he still needs more speed and endurance to expand his role. For a team, that profile screams low-drama, high-effort depth—good fit if you want a grinder who understands the defensive language and plays with buy-in.
