UT Arlington's Deep-Bench Dallas Guard with Untapped Potential
Courtney Austin, a Dallas native guard for the UT Arlington Mavericks, posted modest 2014-15 freshman stats (0.4 ppg, 0.2 rpg in 13 games, 66.7 FG%, 50% 3P%), shining in limited minutes with efficient shooting but no recent college activity noted post-that season—likely a walk-on or developmental piece. His high school pedigree includes a state title at Justin F. Kimball HS, showcasing championship grit and local intensity. Why care? Raw hustle and Dallas roots make him a culture-fit spark plug for teams needing bench energy; ideal for mid-major programs building depth, though unproven at higher levels.
