Bryce Wempa brings old-school size and JUCO pedigree to SFA’s tight end room
In the 2018 season, Bryce Wempa was a 6-foot-5, 255-pound junior tight end at Stephen F. Austin, with a reputation that followed him out of Tyler Junior College as the nation’s No. 1 JUCO tight end entering 2017. He flashed as a vertical seam threat and red-zone target, but his production was modest in that 2018 stat line, so the appeal is more about frame, blocking potential, and matchup upside than gaudy numbers. If you want a big-bodied TE who can stress linebackers and help in the run game, he’s your kind of guy.
