Blachowicz gives Nebraska a steady, strike-throwing right arm
Gavin Blachowicz has emerged as a reliable Nebraska RHP in the 2026 season, showing starter-level poise with a mid-rotation profile: he entered April with a 3-1 record, a 2.51 ERA, and 37 strikeouts in 28.1 innings, while limiting opponents to a .206 average[13]. He’s especially appealing because he attacks the zone, can work deep enough to cover six-plus innings, and has already flashed a seven-inning, 11-strikeout ceiling plus a shutout-quality gem against Illinois[6][4]. If you want a competitive, low-drama innings-eater with upside, he’s a strong fit.
