Jake Moertl brings proven tackling production and back-end versatility to Western Michigan
Jake Moertl has shown he can be a reliable defensive presence for Western Michigan, with 72 tackles, an interception and a strong all-around workload in his most recent listed season, which points to consistency, range and trust from the coaching staff. His value is in doing the unglamorous safety work well: arriving to the ball, supporting the run and helping stabilize the secondary. If you want a defender who plays with steady effort and can fit into multiple coverage looks, he is the kind of fit worth caring about.
